Our Community

At Corinda Community Kindergarten, we cherish the diverse and vibrant community that contributes to our nurturing and enriching environment. Our families come from a wide range of suburbs, including Corinda, Sherwood, Graceville, Oxley, Rocklea, Darra, Seventeen Mile Rocks, Richlands, Durack, and other surrounding areas. We are proud to welcome everyone into our inclusive community, where every child and family is valued. As a not-for-profit kindergarten, we rely on the generosity and dedication of our families and local community to maintain and enhance our facilities and programs. Here’s how you can help:

Join Our Parent Committee

Becoming a member of our parent committee is a great way to contribute to the kindergarten’s success. The committee, composed of volunteer parents, plays a crucial role in fundraising and ensuring the quality of our facilities and resources. Your involvement can make a significant impact on our children’s educational experience. Meetings are held monthly, either face-to-face or online, and provide an opportunity to work closely with the Director/Nominated Supervisor and Administration Officer.

Other Ways to Support

There are numerous other ways you can support our kindergarten if committee work isn’t your preference:

  • Participate in Fundraisers: Help with events like Bunnings sausage sizzles, raffles, pie drives, and open day stalls.
  • Join Working Bees: These are typically held once or twice a year to maintain our facilities.
  • Contribute to Maintenance Tasks: Help with a variety of tasks such as repairing toys, cleaning, or gardening.
  • Donate: We appreciate donations of resources, collage items, raffle prizes, or ingredients for events like sausage sizzles.
  • Promote Our Kindy: Share our Facebook posts, put up posters, and spread the word about our wonderful kindergarten.
  • Washing: Participate in the washing roster by taking home items like towels and tablecloths once a term.
  • Engage with Social Events: Attend and support our social functions.
  • Share Your Skills: Contribute to our educational program by sharing your unique skills, whether it’s cooking, crafting, or cultural storytelling.

Working Bees

We encourage parents to contribute to the maintenance of the Kindergarten through annual working bees held on a Saturday in term three. These tasks vary and can include activities like repairing toys, helping with the garden, cataloguing library books, or cleaning. Active committee members are not expected to participate in these tasks.

Your involvement is invaluable in creating a vibrant, supportive community that enriches the lives of our children.

Thank you for your support!
