The Staff

The Centre employs two fully qualified and registered Early Education Teachers and a full-time qualified Assistant. All the staff hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate and current Suitability Cards (blue cards), issued by the Commission for Children and Young People.

Kate Shapcott

Director/Teacher/Educational Leader

Group One and Two (Monday to Thursday)

Kate has a Bachelor of Arts (UQ), a Graduate Diploma in Education (Child Care) (USQ) and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (USQ).

Kate has worked in a wide variety of leadership roles in the Early Childhood Sector and commenced her role with the Corinda Community Kindergarten in 2020.

Kate is an active member of the Early Childhood Teacher’s Association and is passionately interested in children’s literature. Kate believes that play is the natural way for young children to learn. Her goal is to excite their natural drive to learn and explore and to provide opportunities for them to do this through the Kindergarten Program.

Dianne Kay

Educator

Group One (Monday, Tuesday)

Dianne completed a Diploma of Community Services (Children’s Services) whilst working as a Family Day Care provider. She initially worked as Special Needs Assistant before becoming Assistant Educator at Corinda Community Kindergarten in 2005. Dianne’s ongoing contribution to the Kindergarten has been invaluable.

Yvonne Lou

Educator/Relief Teacher

Group Two (Wednesday/Thursday)

Yvonne is a registered teacher. She has a Certificate 111 and Diploma in Children’s Services, a Bachelor of Early Childhood Studies and a Graduate Diploma in Education.

Yvonne joined our team in 2023 and we are thrilled to have her support.

Anne Riachi

Administrative Assistant

Anne has had many years of accounts/payroll experience within the Kindergarten sector and has worked part time for Corinda Community Kindergarten for many years. Anne’s considerable  experience supports the Kindergarten immensely.

Tracey Pointing

Inclusion Support Educator (Group One)

Relief Educator (Group Two)

Tracey has a BA and MA in Urban and Regional Town Planning. She is currently studying a Masters in Teaching (Early Childhood).

Tracey joined us in 2023 and we are delighted that she will continue with us in 2024.

Sarah Peet

Inclusion Support Educator

Relief Teacher 

Group One and Two

Sarah has a Diploma in Education and Care and a Bachelor of Education Early Childhood. Sarah is a registered teacher.

Sarah joined us in 2023 and we are delighted to have her continue with us in 2024.

Kyren Hammond

Relief Educator (as required)

Kyren holds a Certificate 111 and Diploma in Children’s Services. Kyren has worked with us as relief educator and inclusion support educator since 2020.

We are very happy to have her as part of our staff team.
